The carotenoid canthaxanthin is known to be sensitive to light and oxidation by air. Loss of activity is further accelerated by heat and exposure to extreme pH values. Canthaxanhin in our Caroforte® Red 10% is embedded in a matrix of gelatin and carbohydrates, stabilized with antioxidants – an additional flow aid ensures good flowability.
Thanks to ZMC´s unique micro-encapsulation technology the tailored addition of nature-like antioxidants ensures the highest possible protection against oxidation of the active substance. Proven protection – without use of synthetic antioxidants like BHT and BHA. Excellent coloring properties derives from above average trans-cis relation (90:10) and favorable smaller particle size.
